Ceramic & Tiles Industry
The Art of Strength, Quality, and Innovation
India is among the world’s largest tile and ceramic producers, with clusters like Morbi and Himmatnagar in Gujarat supplying both the domestic market and a growing export base. The industry spans wall and floor tiles, vitrified tiles, sanitaryware and technical ceramics. It has moved from coal gas to cleaner fuels, and overseas buyers increasingly look at environmental credentials alongside price and quality.
The process is dust-heavy from start to finish. Raw material crushing, grinding, body preparation, spray drying and glaze handling release fine particulates, while kilns and dryers produce flue gases containing fluorides, sulphur oxides and nitrogen oxides. Fine silica-bearing dust is also a health concern for workers. As emission standards tighten and export competition rises, reliable dust and gas control is becoming a requirement for growth at cluster scale.
