Solar & Semiconductor Industry
The Power of Precision, Purity, and Innovation
India is building domestic capacity in solar cells, modules and wafers, backed by government incentives and a growing semiconductor ambition. New fabs, assembly and testing plants are being planned at a pace the country has not seen before, and both sectors demand precision and ultra-clean environments.
The air quality challenge here is different from heavy industry. Silicon processing, etching, doping, deposition and chamber cleaning use hazardous gases such as silane, phosphine, ammonia and fluorinated compounds, along with acid vapours and solvents. Fine particles can also damage yield if not controlled. Exhaust streams need specialised treatment before release, and as production scales up, managing toxic, corrosive and high global-warming-potential emissions will be as important as the manufacturing technology itself.
